HELLO AND WELCOME TO MY WEBSITE!

I work mainly with oil paints, but I do also pastel paintings and occasionally water colours. I am mostly self-taught as an artist, but I have taken some great art tutorials with artists such as Stuart Davies and with David Dunlop, whose artisticbrilliance is outstanding.

I am a retired academic psychologist and I taught at doctoral level at the Department of Psychology, National University of Ireland Maynooth (Maynooth University). I specialised in behavioural psychology, and I have published many (>50) scientific papers. I also worked as a practitioner with children with autism spectrum disorder, which was hard at times, but extremely rewarding.

I did some oil paintings when I was young, but then I believed that talent was mostly genetic, and I didn't feel confident enough. Having been a psychologist who specialised in learning, I know that it is possible, though not always easy, to learn with effort. I think I have some innate artistic creativity, and during my academic career this was manifested in the beautiful garden I created at home. I have always felt passionate about the beauty of nature, landscapes and flowers, which I love, and have planted in abundance.

Actually I love Vera Kavura's artwork in which she beautifully paints flowers of Ukraine using pastels.
